AICA Paraguay: new members

The International Association of Art Critics Chapter Paraguay communicates the addition of four new members. They are Anibal Cardozo Ocampo, Lia Colombino, Osvaldo Real Torres and Carlos Sosa Rabito. So far, AICA Paraguay consisted of: Adriana Almada (former President), Luly Codas (former General Secretary), Ticio Escobar, Miguel Angel Fernandez (President, Osvaldo Gonzalez Real, Alban Gueyraud Martinez, and Javier Rodriguez Moure Fernando Alcala. For the admission as corporate members, candidates must provide proof of ongoing activity in the field of art, whether in the media, literature, curatorial practice and / or teaching. Once nominated by AICA Paraguay, the nominations were evaluated by the Electoral Membership Commission of AICA International and approved by the General Assembly meeting in Zurich in July. The AICA International, which federates 63 national sections, was created after the Second World War under the aegis of UNESCO and currently has 4,600 employees worldwide. AICA Paraguay was born under the inspiration of Josefina Plá in the 60s. Both are nonprofit associations, created with the aim of promoting art criticism and the diversity of its exercise. AICA International is chaired by Marek Bartelik, Polish art critic who lives in New York. Adriana Almada, former president of AICA Paraguay, is the AICA International’s vice president, member of the Publications Committee and president of the AICA Fellowship Fund Commission, responsible for organizing the annual AICA’s Incentive Prize for Young Critics, for professionals from around the world under 35 years. The Paraguayan art critic Alban Martinez Gueyraud joined the International Board of Directors last year. Note that, for the first time, members of AICA Paraguay integrate the Directive Board of AICA International.
